FAQs
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
Like many clinicians in private practice, I am an out-of-network provider and do not participate in insurance plans. Payment will be collected at the end of each session, and you will be provided with superbills to submit to your insurance company if you are eligible for reimbursement. Please call your insurance company for information about your out-of-network mental health benefits including for family therapy (couples and families). A guide with questions to ask your insurance company regarding reimbursement can be found here.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
The fee for couples, family, and individual therapy is $200 per 60-minute session and $300 for the initial 90-minute intake session. A sliding scale fee structure is available for clients who are willing to share income information and meet specific criteria. As a client, you are entitled to a good faith estimate of the cost of services before starting treatment.
Do you have experience working with diverse populations?
Yes, I have worked with clients from a wide range of populations with regard to race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, and neurodiversity. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and welcome all types of relationship structures and family configurations into therapy. I am only fluent in English but have worked with interpreters when there was no alternative. If a client prefers a clinician who specializes in a particular population that I have not treated extensively, I will be happy to provide a referral.
Do you offer In-Person sessions?
Yes. My physical office is located in Centreville and overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains.
DO YOU OFFER TELEHEALTH?
Yes. Research has found teletherapy to be as effective as in-person treatment. If we decide that telehealth is the best option for therapy, we will use a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform for sessions. I am also authorized by PSYPACT, which means that I can deliver remote psychological services to clients outside of Virginia. Click here for a list of eligible states. Click here to verify my license with the Virginia Board of Psychology and here to verify my PSYPACT authorization.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
My hours are flexible. I am available for appointments Monday through Friday with evening hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Free phone consultations are offered on Monday and Friday mornings. If you choose to proceed after our initial consultation, we will schedule an intake meeting and then work together to find a regular, weekly slot for ongoing sessions.
